Jim Gilmore: The straighforward leadership we need
When Mark Warner announced as a candidate for the U.S. Senate, the Washington Post declared that he had "a 30 point lead." If that was true then, it isn't anymore.
Recent polling shows that Jim Gilmore -- in less than two months campaigning - has gained on Mark Warner dramatically. A Rasmussen Poll released this January 11 shows Gilmore back 15 and closing. With 10 months to go, Jim Gilmore for U.S. Senate is gaining momentum daily. People are interested because Jim Gilmore is strong on many issues.
National Security - Fighting the War on Terror on moral high ground
- Making secure borders a top priority in Congress
- Helping local governments prepare for emergencies
- Winning the War on Terror without sacrificing our civil liberties
Taxes
- Ending runaway government spending
- Holding the line on taxes
- Making the recent federal tax cuts permanent
- Working to repeal the Alternative Minimum Tax
Immigration
- Ending amnesty for illegal immigrants
- Securing our nation's borders
- Cracking down on employers who knowingly hire illegals
- Enforcing deportation of illegals with criminal records
Traditional Family Values
- Working to strengthen the traditional family
- Working to encourage adoption, further limit abortions
- Instituting a Constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage
- Opposing human cloning
